This will be a full-time, month-long intensive teacher training course delving deeply into the philosophy, practice, and teaching principles and methods of yoga, Ashtanga, and the It's Yoga system. Immerse yourself in the yoga life!
Classes will run (roughly) Mon - Sat 8/9am-5:30pm (it will start sometimes 8, sometimes 9)

HISTORY
- Pattabhi Jois
- T. Krishnamachayra
- History of Ashtanga Yoga
PHILOSOPHY/LIFESTYLE OF YOGA
- The eight limbs of Patanjali
- Ethical observations (yamas & niyamas)
PRANAYAMA
- Ujjayi Breath - theory and practice.
- Nadi Shodana (alternate nostril), Bhastrika, Khumbaka/Rechaka.
- Working with breath in Ashtanga sequences.
- Using pranayama to unlock your potential.
SUN SALUTATIONS
- Suryanamaskara A and B - theory and practice.
ASANAS
- Names (sanskrit and english)
- Standing, seated, and finishing asanas of the Primary Series with a detailed breakdown of the poses.
- Practice and benefits of the asanas.
- Verbal and hands-on adjustments.
ENERGETIC ANATOMY: CHAKRAS/ NAULIS/ BANDHAS
- Names and functions
- Locations and importance
- Naulis - theory and practice
- Bandhas - theory and practice
PHYSICAL ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY
- Muscular & Skeletal systems of the human body: form, function, and application to yoga
- Anatomy of breathing
- Healthy movement patterns
IT'S YOGA VINYASA SYSTEM
Practicing and teaching the sequences:
- Full Primary Series
- Modified Primary Series
- Mixed Levels Routine
- Modified Intermediate Series (Rocket II)
- Minimum Daily Requirements
BECOMING A TEACHER
- Principles of teaching
- Etiquette/ responsibility in the classroom
- Finding your own voice as a teacher
- Developing a personal teaching philosophy
- Marketing yourself as a teacher
Investment R14,900.
Includes: all personal and private instruction, yoga classes and lectures, teachers' manual and materials, and Yoga Alliance certificate (to become an internationally recognized RYT - registered yoga teacher). This doesn't include required texts, meals, or accommodation for the month.
Deposit: R3000 secures your space, the remainder due two weeks prior to the beginning of the training. Once you secure your space, we'll send your study materials.
